Suvendu Adhikari élargit le gouvernement du Bengale-Occidental à 41 ministres

Trois semaines après être devenu le premier ministre en chef du BJP au Bengale-Occidental, Suvendu Adhikari a nommé 35 nouveaux ministres lundi, portant le conseil à 41 membres.

L'élargissement a eu lieu au Lok Bhavan à Kolkata, où le gouverneur R N Ravi a administré les serments. Treize nouveaux ministres du cabinet ont prêté serment, ainsi que trois ministres d'État avec portefeuille indépendant et 19 ministres d'État.

La nouvelle équipe comprend des vétérans tels que Swapan Dasgupta et Arjun Singh ainsi que des députés débutants comme Kalita Majhi, une ancienne employée de maison, et Biraj Biswas, âgé de 32 ans. Le gouvernement du BJP compte désormais six femmes ministres, quatre ministres issus de tribus et huit ministres issus des castes répertoriées.

Neuf ministres viennent du nord du Bengale et au moins neuf ont des antécédents au sein du RSS. Les portefeuilles seront attribués mercredi, a déclaré le ministre du cabinet Tapas Roy. Le ministre de l'Intérieur de l'Union, Amit Shah, a adressé ses meilleurs vœux aux nouveaux ministres.
