L'Epra entame la révision des tarifs de l'électricité pour la période 2026-2029

L'Autorité de régulation de l'énergie et du pétrole a lancé une consultation publique sur les nouveaux tarifs de l'électricité couvrant la période de 2026 à 2029. Ce processus fait suite aux récentes augmentations des factures et aux plaintes généralisées des ménages et des entreprises.

L'Autorité de régulation de l'énergie et du pétrole a annoncé cette révision le 24 mai. La Kenya Power and Lighting Company a soumis la demande au nom de GDC, KenGen, KETRACO et REREC en vertu de l'article 11(b) de la loi sur l'énergie. Les forums publics, initialement prévus pour le 25 mai, ont été reportés. Ils sont désormais programmés pour le mois de juin : le 15 à Kisumu, le 16 à Eldoret, le 17 à Nakuru, le 18 à Nyeri, le 19 à Nairobi, le 22 à Garissa et le 24 à Mombasa. L'autorité a déclaré que ces consultations permettront au public et aux parties prenantes de faire valoir leurs points de vue avant la prise d'une décision finale. Cette révision intervient après que l'EPRA a augmenté les tarifs de plus d'un shilling par unité pour la période de facturation du mois de mai.
