Le chanteur de flamenco El Cabrero est décédé à 81 ans à Séville

José Domínguez Muñoz, connu sous le nom d'El Cabrero, est décédé ce matin dans un hôpital de Séville après une longue maladie. L'artiste originaire d'Aznalcóllar était âgé de 81 ans et laisse derrière lui une carrière marquée par la rébellion et un chant engagé.

Né en 1944 à Aznalcóllar, dans la province de Séville, El Cabrero a toujours concilié son travail de chevrier avec sa carrière artistique. Intégré dans les années soixante-dix par Salvador Távora à la compagnie La Cuadra, il a développé une trajectoire de près de cinquante ans, incluant vingt albums et une renommée internationale.

Son fils, El Crespo Zapata, a annoncé son décès sur Facebook. La chapelle ardente sera installée au Teatro Municipal de Aznalcóllar. L'artiste s'était retiré de la scène en 2020 après avoir été victime d'un AVC.

El Cabrero a reçu des prix tels que le Concurso Nacional de Arte Flamenco de Córdoba en 1986 et le Castillete de Oro en 2019. Deux documentaires ont retracé sa vie : El Cabrero, el cante de la Sierra en 1988 et Mi patria es la libertad en 2024.
