L'agence Fars News, affiliée au CGRI, a rapporté le 16 mai que le ministère iranien de l'Économie avait élaboré ce mécanisme depuis début mai. La plateforme réglerait les polices et certificats maritimes en Bitcoin pour les navires transitant par le détroit, qui traite environ 20 % des expéditions mondiales de pétrole et de gaz naturel liquéfié dans des conditions normales.
