Le duo, tous deux signés chez Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE), partage une longue histoire de collaborations remontant à leurs débuts en 2014 : Cilvia Demo pour Rashad et Z pour SZA. Leur effort commun le plus récent avant celui-ci était « Score », issu de l'album The House Is Burning de Rashad sorti en 2021, sur lequel figurait également 6lack.Sorti le 1er mai, cet album marque un nouveau chapitre dans la discographie de Rashad.
