L'exposition du prix de l'artisanat Loewe ouvre ses portes à Singapour

La Fondation Loewe a inauguré mardi son exposition annuelle du prix de l'artisanat à Singapour, marquant la première apparition de cet événement en Asie du Sud-Est. Le céramiste sud-coréen Jongjin Park a reçu le premier prix de 50 000 euros pour sa sculpture en porcelaine et papier intitulée Strata of Illusion.

L'exposition à la National Gallery Singapore présente 30 finalistes issus de 19 pays et régions, sélectionnés parmi plus de 5 100 candidatures provenant de 133 nations. Le jury, qui comprenait les nouveaux co-directeurs de la création de Loewe, Jack McCollough et Lazaro Hernandez, a salué les œuvres pour leur prouesse technique et l'utilisation innovante de matériaux tels que le verre, la laque et la céramique. Sheila Loewe, présidente de la fondation, a souligné le dynamisme croissant apporté par les nouveaux directeurs et a noté une forte représentation de la Corée du Sud avec six finalistes au total. Des mentions spéciales ont été décernées au créateur de bijoux italien Graziano Visintin et aux Baba Tree Master Weavers, basés au Ghana, pour une grande tapisserie. L'exposition se tiendra jusqu'au 14 juin 2026 et souligne la pertinence continue de l'artisanat physique malgré les avancées technologiques.
