Des pillages signalés lors de la grève pour les services publics à Botshabelo

Quelques boutiques locales (spaza shops) ont été pillées durant la nuit à Botshabelo alors qu'une grève contre les défaillances des services publics et de la gouvernance se poursuit à Mangaung. Le Forum national pour la prestation de services (National Service Delivery Forum) affirme avoir fait échec à d'autres tentatives.

Les bus et les taxis ne circulent pas à Botshabelo et la présence policière reste visible dans la zone. Le National Service Delivery Forum a été alerté des pillages durant la nuit et est intervenu pour prévenir d'autres incidents.

Le dirigeant du NSDF, Potso Motoko, a condamné ceux qui profitent de la situation. Il a indiqué que le groupe n'est pas en mesure de déterminer le nombre de boutiques touchées, mais qu'il a agi pour maintenir le contrôle de la zone.

Motoko a déclaré que la grève se poursuivra et pourrait être intensifiée en l'absence d'intervention gouvernementale. Le forum espère engager le dialogue avec les autorités à la mi-journée et prévoit d'autres actions pour perturber le fonctionnement des bureaux administratifs.
