Matthew Michael Carnahan réalisera The Gatekeeper, une adaptation du roman Deadlock de James Byrne, pour Amazon MGM Studios et Di Bonaventura Pictures.
Le projet suit Desmond “Dez” Aloysius Limerick, un ex-agent atypique qui découvre un vaste complot après avoir sauvé la vie d'un journaliste.
Brian Helgeland adapte le scénario. Le personnage est apparu pour la première fois dans le roman The Gatekeeper de Byrne, mais le film s'inspire principalement du deuxième livre de la série, Deadlock.
Di Bonaventura Pictures et Pouya Shahbazian assurent la production. Carnahan a précédemment réalisé Mosul et a écrit World War Z et Deepwater Horizon.
