Over 300 in Dalarna receive repayment demands from CSN

More than 300 people in Dalarna must repay study grants after earning too much in 2024. CSN has reclaimed nearly eight million kronor in the county.

The Swedish National Board of Student Aid checks incomes two years later. It is now reviewing 2024 and those who exceeded the income limit receive repayment demands.

The income limit is calculated per half-year. The payment date determines whether the income affects study grants.

– It is important to remember that it is the payment date that counts, says Joakim Strömblad, investigator at CSN.

Nationwide, 13 928 people have received repayment demands totaling 403 million kronor. The highest proportions of those liable to repay are in Stockholm, Västmanland and Dalarna.
