Padres place Cronenworth on injured list for concussion symptoms

San Diego Padres second baseman Jake Cronenworth was placed on the seven-day injured list Tuesday due to concussion symptoms. The team recalled infielder Sung-Mun Song as a replacement. In a related move, left-hander Yuki Matsui was activated from the injured list.

The Padres made the roster moves in San Francisco after Cronenworth experienced what the team described as concussion symptoms. It remains unclear how or when the symptoms began. Cronenworth has struggled offensively this season, batting .144 with a .468 OPS. He slots in as the regular second baseman for the team.
