Pebble Beach Golf Links caddies shifted from independent contractors to hourly employees on May 1, sparking debate over earnings and working conditions. A unionization vote is scheduled for June 18.

Caddiemaster implemented the change for more than 300 caddies at the resort. Hourly rates now range from $17.54 to $24.98, plus tips, with added benefits including healthcare eligibility and a 401(k). Guest fees rose to $175 for a single bag and $250 for a double bag.
