Police in Sibbarp are urging parents to immediately pick up their intoxicated children and youths from the area around the cold bathhouse. Thousands of youths have gathered there on Walpurgis Night, with high intoxication levels and several fights. Operations leader Ulrika Johansson says the situation is under control but the main issue is alcohol.
On Walpurgis Night, April 30, 2026, disorder erupted near the cold bathhouse in Sibbarp, Skåne. Police report large numbers of intoxicated children and youths, "thousands" according to operations leader Ulrika Johansson. The celebration started calmly with families but escalated as many youths arrived.
Police have received numerous reports of fights and set up a pickup point for parents. "Your children risk coming to harm if they stay on site", police write on Facebook and Instagram, urging guardians to collect their children immediately. Johansson stresses that police cannot transport the youths home themselves and several have required ambulances.
"We're talking thousands. There has been a high level of intoxication and quite a bit of trouble", Johansson tells Sydsvenskan. She adds that resources are sufficient to manage the situation. One parent calls it "terrible" and compares it to a war zone from last year, but notes it is better this year.
Similar appeals have come from police in Malmö, Linköping, and Stockholm, where youth gatherings have gone off the rails in several locations.
