Police warn of scammers knocking on doors in Dalarna

Scammers posing as police or bank officials have started knocking on doors in Dalarna and other parts of police region Bergslagen. Many elderly people risk losing their entire savings in these encounters. The perpetrators are becoming increasingly insistent and trying to enter homes.

A wave of frauds is sweeping through police region Bergslagen, including Dalarna. According to police, the scammers pose as representatives from authorities like the police or banks. They knock on doors and try to convince victims to let them into the home to 'secure' valuables.

Many of those affected are elderly, and police warn that entire savings can be lost if these individuals are allowed inside. Eric Salomonsson reports that the perpetrators are insistent and do not give up easily.

Police urge the public to remain vigilant and not let strangers into their homes. There is no official policy from police or banks that involves home visits for such purposes.
