White Sox outfielder Randal Grichuk visited the Yankees side of the field at Yankee Stadium on Tuesday afternoon. He hugged infielder Amed Rosario and spoke with hitting coach James Rowson.
The interaction occurred at 2:40 p.m. ET. Grichuk showed no signs of resentment after the Yankees designated him for assignment on April 29 and released him two days later.
Grichuk joined the White Sox on May 4. He has seen regular playing time against left-handed pitchers and posted a .316/.361/.667 slash line with six home runs and 17 RBIs in 27 games entering Tuesday.
In 16 games with the Yankees, Grichuk had a .194/.212/.323 slash line and two RBIs. He noted limited opportunities due to the established outfield of Cody Bellinger, Trent Grisham and Aaron Judge.
Grichuk highlighted positive relationships formed during his short time in New York. He also praised the young White Sox roster and his role mentoring younger players.
