Rodrigo Abols has signed with Swiss club SC Bern instead of returning to Örebro Hockey. The 30-year-old Latvian center made the decision after leaving the Philadelphia Flyers organization.
The move ends speculation about a comeback to the Swedish Hockey League. Abols had success with Örebro in the past and remained a fan favorite there.
Örebro Hockey expressed interest in a reunion during the summer. Sport director Henrik Löwdahl had indicated that a return this year was unlikely.
SC Bern announced Abols as their latest signing for the upcoming season. The decision shifts his focus to the Swiss top league.
