Après six mois passés en fauteuil roulant et la pose de plaques métalliques, il a réussi à se rétablir, mais sa dépendance aux analgésiques l'a entraîné dans une spirale d'« angoisse et d'horreur » avant qu'il ne parvienne à arrêter brutalement son traitement.
