Des chercheurs éthiopiens en sciences politiques et en administration publique ont souligné que des élections libres, équitables et démocratiques sont essentielles à la paix nationale et à un développement économique solide.

Mulalem Hailemariam, chargé de cours en sciences politiques à l'Université de Wachemo, a expliqué que les élections fondées sur le consentement du public favorisent le progrès économique et social.

Le Dr Fiqadu Tolosa, de l'Université de Jimma, a ajouté que les scrutins démocratiques jouent un rôle vital pour garantir une croissance et un développement nationaux partagés.

Hussman Qasim, instructeur en civisme et en éthique, a fait remarquer que des transferts de pouvoir pacifiques après les élections démontrent une véritable démocratie. Les chercheurs ont exhorté les citoyens à utiliser leur droit de vote lors de la septième élection générale afin de renforcer une gouvernance équitable et de jeter les bases du progrès national.
