Les Émirats arabes unis stockeront jusqu'à 30 millions de barils de pétrole brut dans les réserves stratégiques de l'Inde, suite à la récente visite du Premier ministre Narendra Modi à Abou Dabi.

Le ministère des Affaires étrangères a qualifié les Émirats arabes unis de partenaire important pour la sécurité énergétique de l'Inde. Les responsables ont confirmé que les deux nations ont convenu de lancer de nouvelles initiatives pour un partenariat énergétique global. Ce partenariat couvrira les approvisionnements en pétrole brut, en gaz naturel liquéfié et en gaz de pétrole liquéfié.

L'accord s'appuie sur la coopération existante entre l'Indian Oil Corporation et l'ADNOC. Il se concentre sur l'expansion de la capacité de stockage dans les réserves indiennes afin d'améliorer la stabilité des approvisionnements.

Cet accord vise à renforcer les liens dans le commerce de l'énergie et le développement des infrastructures entre les deux pays.
