Uppsala municipality provides support via three conversation coaches for residents aged 65 and over seeking new social contexts or activities. These health conversations address participants' well-being, social situations, and activity preferences. Coaches suggest walking groups, meeting points, group training, lectures, or other municipal open activities to enhance participation and community. > “We talk about how you feel, your social situation, and what you like to do. We can also tip activities, operations, and contexts where there is opportunity to make new contacts and thus increase your sense of participation and community,” says Daniel Hawkins, conversation coach. Individuals seek support for diverse needs, from more social contacts to activities fitting daily life and interests. > “The reasons for booking a health conversation can look very different. Some want support in finding more social contacts while others primarily want tips on activities that suit their daily life and interests. For example, it can involve walking groups, meeting points, group training, lectures, or other open activities in the municipality. For me, it shows that the health conversation is about giving advice and information based on what the person wants,” says Johanna Tagesson, conversation coach. Interest declarations can be made via phone 018-727 07 80.
