Växjö Lakers extend contract with goalkeeper Adam Åhman

Växjö Lakers have signed goalkeeper Adam Åhman to a new two-year contract, making him the first player to extend ahead of the upcoming season. Åhman, who joined the club before the 2021/22 campaign, has played 122 regular-season matches and 15 playoff games during his five years with the team. He helped secure a league title and an SM-guld.

Adam Åhman arrived at Växjö Lakers prior to the 2021/22 season and has since become a key figure in the squad. Over his tenure, he appeared in 122 grundserie matches and 15 playoff contests, contributing to the team's league championship and Swedish championship gold medal, known as SM-guld. The extension ensures his continued presence in the club for two more years. Adam Åhman expressed his excitement to the club's website: “I am super happy to continue my journey in Växjö Lakers, this is where I want to be! I look forward to meeting everyone again in Vida Arena this fall.” Sports director Henrik Evertsson praised the goalkeeper's impact: “Adam has been a very important part of our team for several years, he stands for stability and professionalism. Therefore, we are very happy to have him in the team for the coming two years as well.” This move marks the first contract renewal announced by Växjö Lakers for the next season.
