The 2026 British open championship will feature a significant format change and a fivefold increase in first prize after organisers listened to rider feedback. The event returns to Hartpury University and Hartpury College from 11 to 16 August.
The NAF Hartpury International Celebration of Eventing will elevate the British open championship to FEI four-star level. It will now run within the NAF CCI4*-S, ensuring the national title is decided over the same track and under the same spotlight as the international competition. The overall CCI4*-S winner will be crowned British open champion where eligible.
