CBS develops 'Flint' drama starring Matt LeBlanc

CBS has announced a new drama series starring and executive-produced by Matt LeBlanc, known for his role on 'Friends'. The project, titled 'Flint', centers on a Los Angeles Police Department detective facing an unexpected extension of his service. It comes from writer Evan Katz and producers including Jerry Bruckheimer.

CBS announced on Wednesday that it is developing 'Flint', a drama starring Matt LeBlanc in the lead role as a ready-to-retire Los Angeles Police Department detective. The story follows the character, who gets blindsided when the city extends his service by five years. Determined to get fired, he starts breaking rules and disobeying orders, only to become an even better cop in the process, according to the official logline. LeBlanc also serves as an executive producer on the project. The series hails from Evan Katz, the writer behind '24', along with CBS Studios and Jerry Bruckheimer Television. If picked up to series, 'Flint' would join CBS's 2027-2028 primetime lineup. LeBlanc built his television career on comedies, including his iconic portrayal of Joey Tribbiani across all 10 seasons of 'Friends'. His other credits include the spin-off 'Joey', as well as 'Episodes' and 'Man With a Plan'. This drama marks a departure from his previous work.
