Chinese investors boost Ethiopia's economic reforms

Ethiopia's ongoing economic reforms are gaining momentum from increased investments by Chinese business owners, said China's ambassador Chen Hai. He highlighted the strengthening ties between the two nations during remarks in Addis Ababa.

China's Ambassador Chen Hai stated in Addis Ababa on May 21, 2018 (EC) that Ethiopia and China share a historic and strong diplomatic friendship. He noted that their partnership fosters development cooperation, strengthening bilateral ties.

The ambassador praised Ethiopia's two-way trade and investment strategy for registering significant growth and ensuring collective participation. He said Chinese investors are undertaking new business and investment ventures in Ethiopia with substantial progress.

Ethiopia's ongoing economic reforms encourage Chinese business owners to invest confidently, providing significant contribution. This reform creates numerous new opportunities attracting many Chinese investors.

The Ethiopia-China economic cooperation centers on agriculture, industry, and human resource development, and is expanding broadly. In coming years, it will further strengthen business investment strategy partnership to enhance bilateral relations, according to the ambassador.
