Musician Chris Graue has made the schematics for a 3D-printed adapter public. The adapter connects a Game Boy Camera to a telescope eyepiece. He also posted a short tutorial video.
Graue gained attention last month after capturing an image of Jupiter using a Game Boy Camera attached to the Hooker Telescope at Mount Wilson Observatory. The connection relied on a custom 3D-printed adapter.
He announced the release of the adapter files on July 8. The design is described as a tube that pressure fits inside a standard 1.25 inch eyepiece. The files are available for free download.
Graue posted a tutorial video alongside the files. The adapter allows users to experiment with the Game Boy Camera on any compatible telescope.
