Clashes broke out in Delhi on Monday during the Cockroach Janta Party's 'Sansad Chalo' march to Parliament.
The Cockroach Janta Party organised a 'Sansad Chalo' march from Jantar Mantar towards Parliament on Monday to demand the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged NEET paper leaks. Police fired tear gas shells and resorted to lathi charge to disperse the crowd.
Delhi Police said more than 118 personnel, including senior officers, were injured while around 60 protesters also sustained injuries. About 70 protesters were detained and 15-20 government vehicles were damaged.
CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke said the march would continue on Tuesday. 'We will march again. We will not leave the protest site,' he told Aaj Tak. Activist Sonam Wangchuk extended his hunger strike, citing police action against the youth. CJP representatives met Health Minister JP Nadda but received no commitments on their demands.
