District Planning Office Starts Steps for Development Projects

The District Planning Office has begun efforts to roll out grassroots projects outlined in the District Plan for Ernakulam.

The District Planning Office will hold a meeting of all district departments on Monday, June 8, 2026, to identify projects suitable for local bodies in the current financial year. Officials from the departments will advise on implementation and funding options. The District Plan, compiled toward the end of the previous Left Democratic Front government, draws on input from 29 sub-committees in Ernakulam. It serves as a five-year roadmap and aims to avoid overlap between state and local projects. The district panchayat president and the District Collector are expected to join the discussions, which will cover sectors including agriculture, SC/ST development, and social justice. This marks the second such plan prepared in the state since 2017.
