The long-running animated series Family Guy reaches a milestone with its 450th episode, airing as the season 24 premiere on Sunday, February 15, at 9:30 p.m. ET on Fox. In 'The Edible Arrangement,' Lois Griffin and her son Stewie communicate directly for the first time, prompted by gummies obtained by Brian from Quahog's new legal weed dispensary. The episode blends humor with deeper insights into their mother-son relationship.

Alex Borstein, who voices Lois, shared her enthusiasm in an interview with TVLine. 'It's not something I ever thought I needed, but boy did I need it,' she said. Borstein found the experience 'extremely therapeutic, not just as Lois, but also for me as a mom.' She praised the episode's 'absurdist depiction of the mother-son relationship and all the weird layers that are there,' calling it funny and hitting on multiple levels. She considers it her favorite episode to date.

A highlight was performing a live table read during the show's 25th anniversary celebration at PaleyFest, where Borstein acted opposite creator Seth MacFarlane, who voices Stewie. 'It was a 100% performance with two people finding each other and communicating that have never communicated before,' she recalled.

The episode has sparked ideas for future storylines involving Lois and Stewie. 'It springboards a lot of future ideas,' Borstein noted. 'As soon as we started recording this one, it was like, 'Oh, this would be really cool. Well, what if we take this and do this in the future?'' She expressed hope for more adventures featuring the duo.

After 23 seasons and additional Hulu specials, this installment marks a fresh dynamic in the series, set in the fictional town of Quahog.
