Inditex agrees 12.5 percent salary increase until 2028 for Spain store staff

Inditex has reached a deal with unions CCOO and UGT for a 12.5 percent salary increase covering nearly 30,000 store workers in Spain. The agreement includes 4 percent annual rises from 2026 to 2028 and takes effect retroactively from January 1, 2026.

The deal renews the February 2023 agreement and covers store staff at brands such as Zara and Pull&Bear. It includes higher hourly rates for Sundays and holidays, rising from 10 to 11.25 euros on Sundays and from 12 to 13.5 euros on holidays by 2028.

Beyond pay, the pact improves birth grants, school materials and nursery aid, and adds compensation for remote work at big stores. A working group will be set up to standardize rules on licenses, holidays and leave.

The agreement follows the recent signing of the first national textile retail collective agreement between ARTE and the unions, which gradually cuts annual working hours to 1,740 by 2028.
