Jake Bauers hit a go-ahead two-run home run in the seventh inning to lift the Milwaukee Brewers to a 3-2 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Sunday afternoon at Chase Field.
The Brewers managed little offense through the first six innings against Diamondbacks starter Eduardo Rodriguez. Bauers then connected for the decisive blast in the top of the seventh.
Milwaukee starter Brandon Sproat allowed one run over four innings. Left-hander Drew Rom, called up that morning, earned the win after retiring Pavin Smith in the sixth.
Second baseman Brice Turang started a double play in the eighth, and Trevor Megill recorded his 13th save in the ninth.
