President José Antonio Kast led his administration's fourth cabinet meeting on Thursday at Cerro Castillo, following Tuesday's ministerial adjustment that removed two ministers.
The meeting served to define the so-called second phase of the government, with the June 1 public account as the main milestone. Ministers discussed a new communication design that will include an institutional slogan different from “Trabajando para usted” and a specific motto for the presidential speech: “Chile cuenta con todos”.
Biminister Claudio Alvarado, now in charge of Interior and Segegob, consolidated as the figure of greatest political weight. Undersecretary Máximo Pavez debuted in contingency spokesmanships and stated that the government's priorities in reconstruction, security, migration and economic growth remain unchanged.
Tuesday's cabinet change removed Trinidad Steinert from Security and Mara Sedini from Segegob. Martín Arrau took over Security. In the ruling coalition it is assessed that the UDI gained influence with Alvarado and Pavez, while Kast himself and his advisers had to yield on the initial design of the team.
