Prabowo asks ministry to shorten Hajj waiting time

Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak said President Prabowo Subianto has asked the ministry to find ways to shorten the regular Hajj queue. The statement was made in Medan on Saturday.

Dahnil stated that an evaluation of the 2027 or 1448 Hijriah Hajj implementation will be carried out. The president requested a formula to shorten the Hajj queue further.

The regular Hajj queue is currently around 13 to 14 years in practice. Administratively the waiting period has been equalized to 26 years across all regions in Indonesia.

The president also appreciated Indonesian Hajj pilgrims for being more orderly in the Holy Land. He hopes the ministry will focus on providing prime service for the safety and comfort of pilgrims.
