Roldanillo hospital suspends services over Nueva EPS debt

The Hospital Departamental San Antonio de Roldanillo announced the suspension of several health services due to a debt exceeding 10 billion pesos from Nueva EPS. The measure affects at least 60,000 affiliates in northern Valle del Cauca.

The medical center explained that the lack of payment has prevented it from meeting obligations such as paying suppliers and purchasing medicines. From now on only vital emergencies will be attended while second-level services such as gynecology, general surgery, pediatrics, traumatology, internal medicine and family medicine are suspended. Mauricio Saldarriaga, the hospital manager, stated that without resources or a payment guarantee the restriction of outpatient consultations and medication delivery will begin. The case will be presented to the Superintendencia Nacional de Salud to seek a solution. The decision also affects residents of nearby municipalities such as La Unión, Bolívar, Zarzal, La Victoria, Versalles and El Dovio who usually receive care at the facility.
