UDI hands social agenda to Kast with housing and family proposals

The Unión Demócrata Independiente delivered the document “Una Agenda Social para Chile” to President José Antonio Kast this Saturday during its Social Council at the former Congress.

The text, prepared after regional meetings, includes proposals on security, health, housing and family. UDI president deputy Guillermo Ramírez handed the document to the president.

Ramírez noted that some urgencies have dragged on for years, such as health waiting lists, while others respond to new realities like low birth rates and elderly loneliness.

Key measures include a “Pie Cero” with state support for the first home, reduced VAT for the first dwelling, progress on universal nursery care and a gradual increase of the child bonus up to two million pesos at the mother’s retirement.

The document also proposes modernizing the curriculum to fight functional illiteracy and a reform of the Administrative Statute prioritizing merit.
