Born in Pallapatla village in Andhra Pradesh, Janaki won the National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer for Senthoora Poove in 16 Vayathinile. Her mortal remains will be kept at Maharaja’s College Grounds for public homage, with last rites to be conducted with full state honours.
