Villarruel attends Comodoro Py hearing over Negre complaint

Vice President Victoria Villarruel appeared on Wednesday at the Comodoro Py courts for a conciliation hearing in a defamation lawsuit against journalist Javier Negre.

The vice president arrived around 11 a.m. at the fourth floor of the federal court led by Sebastián Casanello. She is pursuing the complaint against Negre, owner of La Derecha Diario, over X posts from last year in which she accused him of calling her “traidora y golpista.”

Negre did not attend the hearing, so the meeting was suspended without progress. The judge must now decide whether to schedule a new instance or proceed with the case.

Villarruel has filed similar complaints against other journalists and political figures for comparable expressions, although several claims were dismissed by the courts.
