Winners crowned at Bahrain international horse racing round

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa attended the fifth round of the Bahrain International Racing Championship at the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club in Riffa. The event featured several prestigious cups named after members of the royal family. HH Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa presented awards to the winners.

The fifth round of the Bahrain International Racing Championship took place as part of the 20th horse racing event at the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club track in Riffa. His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Deputy King and Crown Prince, was present for the occasion. The races included the Cup of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of HM the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports. Additional cups were named after his children: HH Shaikha Shaima bint Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, President of Voluntary Humanitarian Initiatives at the Royal Humanitarian Foundation; HH Shaikh Hamad bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa; HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa; HH Shaikh Hamdan bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa; and HH Shaikh Khalid bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa. The program also encompassed the Bahrain Vision Cup and the Sakhir Cup. Other notable attendees included HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Minister of the Prime Minister’s Court and Chairman of the High Committee of the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club, as well as HH Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Vice Chairman of the Supreme Council for Environment and Deputy Chairman of the Club’s High Committee. Senior officials and representatives from sponsoring companies were also in attendance. HH Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa crowned the winners and presented the Cup of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa to Abdulla Fawzi Nass. For the cups named after HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa’s children, trainer Yousef Al Buainain received the first race cup, trainer Robert McDowell the second, HH Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa the third, and HH Shaikh Sultan Deen bin Mohammed bin Salman Al Khalifa the seventh and eighth. Winners of the fifth round were honoured separately, with HH Shaikh Sultan Deen bin Mohammed bin Salman Al Khalifa receiving the Sakhir Cup, sponsored by Texel Air, from George Chisholm, Chief Executive Officer of Texel Air. Two additional prizes went to the winning trainer and jockey of the ninth championship race.
