Chinese President Xi Jinping returned to Beijing on Tuesday afternoon after concluding his state visit to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. During the visit, he reached important consensus with DPRK leader Kim Jong Un on developing bilateral relations in the new era.
Xi returned on the same flight with his wife Peng Liyuan. His entourage included Cai Qi, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, and Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau and Chinese foreign minister. During the visit, Xi and Kim Jong Un agreed to carry forward the traditional friendship between the two countries from generation to generation. They paid tribute at the China-DPRK Friendship Tower and recalled the shared battles of the 1950s. Kim and his wife Ri Sol Ju saw off the Chinese delegation at Pyongyang airport with a grand farewell ceremony. Both sides said they would implement the consensus reached and advance bilateral cooperation.
