Former New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Hicks appeared on the Subpar podcast to talk about his move to professional golf. The 36-year-old has recorded multiple wins on the Pro Tour since ending his baseball career after the 2024 season.
Hicks hit 109 home runs during his 11-year Major League Baseball career. He has since returned to golf, a sport he played as a junior in Southern California.
On the podcast, Hicks said he routinely achieves ball speeds above 200 miles per hour, with a top mark of 207. That figure exceeds the typical PGA Tour average of around 175 miles per hour.
Hicks learned the game from his father, Joe. He recounted how a broken promise over a set of clubs as a child prompted him to focus on baseball instead.
He is married to Cheyenne Woods, a former LPGA player and niece of Tiger Woods.
