Speaking before a 6-2 loss to the Detroit Tigers on Wednesday, Judge highlighted the club's need to prioritize its World Series goals. The reigning American League MVP remains sidelined with a rib fracture.
Judge, who has been on the injured list since June 5 with a fractured right first rib, addressed reporters about the Yankees' recent struggles. He pointed to a lack of focus and urged players to remember their job of winning a championship.
"It's not great -- just a little lack of focus," Judge said. "We've just got to dial it in. Our ultimate goal is to win a World Series."
The Yankees allowed 21 unearned runs since June 20 and have struggled with runners in scoring position. They also lost their hold on first place in the American League East and now trail the Tampa Bay Rays.
Manager Aaron Boone noted Judge's leadership impact while the team awaits his return. Judge said there is no set date yet for imaging on his injury.
