Indonesia's House Commission VIII and the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah have set the hajj service cost for 2026 at Rp87.4 million per pilgrim, down about Rp2 million from the previous year. This reduction does not compromise service quality for pilgrims. Pilgrims pay Rp54.2 million directly, with the rest covered by hajj fund management.
On Wednesday, House Commission VIII and the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah agreed on an average Hajj Service Cost (BPIH) for 1447 H/2026 of Rp87,409,365.45 per pilgrim. This figure is down from Rp89.4 million in 2025, resulting from intensive discussions with the Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH).
Commission VIII Chairman Marwan Dasopang stated, “This discussion was extraordinary, conducted quickly and responsibly. In one day and one night, we managed to set a realistic figure without reducing service quality for pilgrims.” The pilgrim-paid portion (Bipih) is Rp54,193,806.58 or 62 percent of the total, while Rp33,215,558.87 or 38 percent comes from BPKH's value benefits, yielding a Rp149 billion surplus.
Marwan emphasized the commitment to quality: accommodations in Mecca maximum 4.5 km from Masjidil Haram and in Medina 1 km from Masjid Nabawi. Catering menus feature Nusantara flavors prepared by Indonesian chefs, and a SAR750 living cost is refunded in cash, making the total pilgrim payment around Rp23.1 million after finalization. “We are committed to ensuring the best services are provided, from transportation and meals to Armuzna services,” he added.
Indonesia's 2026 hajj quota is 221,000, with 203,320 regular (92 percent) and 17,680 special (8 percent), allocated by provincial waiting lists per Law No. 14 of 2025. Average stay is 41 days, aircraft maximum 15 years old, and land transport comfortable. The commission urges quick calls for eligible pilgrims and optimal services from Rakeen Mashariq and Al-Bait Guests, with no placement in Mina Jadid.
