Indonesia's November 2025 inflation controlled at 0.17 percent

The Central Statistics Agency recorded November 2025 consumer price index inflation at 0.17 percent month-to-month and 2.72 percent year-on-year. Bank Indonesia stated that this figure results from consistent monetary policy and synergy with the government. Inflation is projected to remain within the 2.5±1 percent target for 2025 and 2026.

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for November 2025 experienced inflation of 0.17 percent (month-to-month/mtm), resulting in an annual rate of 2.72 percent (year-on-year/yoy). This figure falls within Bank Indonesia's target range of 2.5±1 percent.

Bank Indonesia attributes this inflation control to consistent monetary policy and close synergy between the central bank and central and regional governments. Executive Director of the BI Communications Department, Ramdan Denny Prakoso, stated that volatile food inflation is expected to remain controlled going forward. "Ke depan, inflasi volatile food diprakirakan tetap terkendali didukung oleh eratnya sinergi antara Bank Indonesia bersama Tim Pengendalian Inflasi Pusat dan Daerah (TPIP dan TPID) dan penguatan implementasi Program Ketahanan Pangan Nasional," Ramdan said in his statement on Monday (December 1, 2025), as quoted on Tuesday (December 2, 2025).

Core inflation was recorded at 0.17 percent (mtm), lower than the previous month's 0.39 percent, mainly contributed by rising gold jewelry prices due to global gold price increases. Annually, core inflation remained stable at 2.36 percent (yoy). The volatile food group saw 0.02 percent inflation (mtm), relatively stable, primarily from red onions due to limited supply from weather disruptions and rising seed prices. Annually, volatile food fell to 5.48 percent (yoy) from 6.59 percent.

Meanwhile, administered prices rose to 0.24 percent (mtm) from 0.10 percent, driven by air transport tariffs amid increased mobility and avtur prices. Annually, administered prices reached 1.58 percent (yoy), up from 1.45 percent. BI believes strengthening the national food resilience program will maintain inflation stability ahead.
