Czech star Jakub Mensik, who withdrew from the Monte Carlo Masters earlier this week due to a right foot infection, has now pulled out of the BMW Open in Munich to allow more recovery time. The 20-year-old announced the news on X, continuing a tough injury-disrupted 2026 season.
After exiting Monte Carlo hours before his opener against Fabian Marozsan—initially listed as a toe issue, with Damir Dzumhur entering as lucky loser—Mensik clarified the cause on social media. "Sadly, I had to withdraw from Monte Carlo earlier this week because of an infection in my right foot. We’ve done everything possible to try and get me ready to compete, but there just hasn’t been enough time," he posted on X.
Opting for caution, Mensik has now withdrawn from next week's BMW Open in Munich, prioritizing full recovery amid recurring injury challenges this season.
