Kerala releases GCC feasibility report to attract investments

The Kerala government released a Global Capability Centre feasibility report on Tuesday at Technopark during the Kerala GCC Outlook 2026 conclave, outlining plans to attract more investments and create jobs.

Industries Minister P.K. Kunhalikutty released the Global Capability Centre Feasibility Report of Kerala IT. He described it as a vital step toward making the state the most preferred GCC destination, citing its skilled talent pool and established IT ecosystem while noting areas needing improvement.

Seeram Samabasiva Rao, Special Secretary in the Department of Electronics and IT, said Kerala currently has 45 operational GCCs. The government aims to increase this number to 150, which could create two lakh jobs by 2031.

Srinivasan Sarvabhouman of ANSR presented the report prepared with input from Colliers India. Industry figures including Suja Chandy of Zafin and Hrishikesh Nair of Brigade Enterprises highlighted the need for stronger academia-industry ties and better infrastructure such as ready-to-occupy incubation spaces.
