Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the Million Minds Tech Park in Ahmedabad on Sunday, calling on Gujarat to secure a position among the top three states in the service sector.
Shah spoke at the event, noting Gujarat’s achievements in manufacturing, engineering and green energy. He said the state must now focus on services and IT to match cities like Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
The park covers 65 acres and 13.5 lakh square feet in its first phase, built at a cost of about ₹1,100 crore. It is expected to support 9,000 professionals initially and expand over seven phases with a total investment of ₹15,000 crore, creating more than 63,000 jobs in five years.
Shekhar Patel, MD and CEO of Ganesh Housing Ltd., described the project as an economic growth initiative that will generate over 70,000 jobs directly and indirectly while attracting global corporations to Ahmedabad.
