Kumaraswamy vows to stand with state government on development issues

Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy, after inaugurating a new Sainik School in Sindhanur town of Raichur district, stated he would stand with the Karnataka state government on development matters. He urged stakeholders to work together, setting aside political differences, for the region's progress. He endorsed proposals for an AIIMS in Raichur and the Navile reservoir project.

Janata Dal (Secular) leader and Union Minister for Steel and Heavy Industries H.D. Kumaraswamy stated on Saturday (April 4) that development should transcend political considerations. Speaking after inaugurating the new Sainik School at Shri Krishnadevaraya Education Society in Sindhanur town of Raichur district, he affirmed his support for the Karnataka state government on development issues.

He highlighted the need for multiple development initiatives across Raichur district and other parts of Karnataka, calling on all stakeholders to collaborate beyond political differences. Kumaraswamy expressed backing for proposals by MLA Hampanagouda Badarli and MP Kumar Naik to establish industries and generate employment in the region.

He emphasized the requirement for an All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Raichur and the construction of the Navile reservoir alongside the Tungabhadra reservoir. Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth and Andhra Pradesh's Information Technology and Human Resource Development Minister Nara Lokesh attended the event.

Regarding the Navile reservoir proposal, Kumaraswamy noted it is a complex and sensitive matter that should not rest solely on Lokesh. He pointed out silt accumulation in the Tungabhadra reservoir has reduced its storage capacity, impacting irrigation and agricultural productivity. The former Chief Minister stressed that inter-state water issues demand dialogue, mutual trust, and cooperation between Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.
