North Korean leader Kim Jong-un posed for photographs with war veterans to mark the 73rd anniversary of the Korean War armistice. The Tuesday session in Pyongyang formed part of Victory Day commemorations.
According to the Korean Central News Agency, Kim posed for the photographs on Tuesday with veterans and citizens honored for wartime service. They had arrived in Pyongyang from across the country on Saturday to take part in the events.
Kim said it was "a great pleasure of and encouragement to our Party, state and people" that the wartime generation stood before them as witnesses of victory. The commemorations also featured visits to national cemeteries, a military parade and a gala.
Kim's daughter, Kim Ju-ae, made her first public appearance at the Victory Day events.
