Mike Helber has confirmed he will not run for the chairman position at Linköping HC. The announcement ends speculation ahead of the club's August meeting.
The 56-year-old club figure posted the decision on Facebook after the nomination committee proposed Lisa Agerhult to succeed Christer Trägårdh. Helber had been discussed for the role but was not selected.
In his statement Helber said discussions around the chairmanship and his involvement prompted him to clarify his position early. He added that he chooses to move forward after the process reached its current point.
Helber also thanked supporters for their messages during his 22 years with the club and 35 years in Sweden. The annual meeting is set for August 4, leaving Agerhult as the expected new chair without opposition.
