PUBG Battlegrounds is introducing Xeno Point, a new co-op PvE mode separate from its battle royale gameplay. Players squad up in a futuristic hub to upgrade abilities, craft items and select gear before tackling enemy waves on reimagined maps. The mode features familiar weapons alongside anti-alien variants with rarity rankings.
Krafton and PUBG Studios showcased Xeno Point during a preview event in Seoul, South Korea. The mode lets four-player squads load into a hub area to manage a skill tree, enhance ultimate-style abilities and prepare standard battle royale weapons, attachments and gear. A new anti-alien weapon comes in color-coded variants ranked by rarity, with looter-shooter buffs for damage and armor resistance as players progress through difficulty tiers. This preview is based on a visit to Krafton and PUBG studios in Seoul, South Korea. Krafton provided flights and accommodation. In hands-on play on the third of four difficulty tiers, groups defended capture points against waves of robo-spiders, self-destructing enemies, humanoid xeno-robots and shielded foes on a linear version of the Miramar map. Missions included sub-boss and main boss encounters, which testers completed on first or second attempts even with mixed epic and legendary gear. The setup emphasizes optimization through gear and skill tree advancement. Xeno Point follows prior PvE efforts like a Skibidi Toilet collaboration and bot-involved modes. It aims to offer lighter, session-based play as a break from battle royale tension, reusing PUBG's signature weapons and maps.
