Rachel Brookes leaves Sky Sports F1 role

Longtime Sky Sports Formula 1 broadcaster Rachel Brookes has confirmed her departure from the network after 17 years. She joined in 2009 and became a key part of the F1 coverage starting in 2012. Brookes said she plans to remain involved in the sport.

Brookes announced the move on social media, stating she is leaving with immediate effect. She described the change as moving on to exciting new ventures while keeping her connection to Formula 1.

She wrote that Formula 1 still has her heart and she will stay involved. Brookes added she expects to be present at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone next week.

Sky Sports secured full UK broadcast rights for Formula 1 in 2012. The network recently extended its deal until at least 2034.
