Zacatecas' State Table for Peace and Security Spokesperson confirmed the identities of six out of seven people found dead in Aguascalientes. All victims were from Zacatecas, with disappearances reported between April 17 and 29. One had a prior missing person report.
On Friday, authorities found seven bodies in Aguascalientes, neighboring Zacatecas. Two days later, the State Table for Peace and Security Spokesperson reported six identified as Zacatecas natives, mainly from Guadalupe municipality and La Zacatecana.
The victims are Manuel de Jesús Jacobo Castro, Miguel Adán Mena Saucedo, Coral Esmeralda Muñoz Vargas, José Eduardo Jara Elías, Alan Antony Sifuentes Redin, and Frida Michelle Muro Espinoza. Some identities were confirmed by family, others by fingerprint analysis. Aguascalientes Prosecutor's Office determined death by gunshot wounds to skull and thorax.
Coordination persists among federal, state, and municipal governments to clarify the events, strengthening intelligence and surveillance. Authorities warn of fake missing persons flyers circulating on social media, issued by criminal groups, not any official body.
On social media, relatives demand Zacatecas Prosecutor Christian Paul Camacho Osnaya investigate alleged involvement of municipal police in the disappearances and kidnappings, though no official details on causes or arrests exist.
